nothing to do with screwdrivers, but.....

hammerhead from skip, all rusty. plastic saw handle shattered when dropped off ladder.
a bit of scrap oak floorbord and a couple of hours when idling away free time.

screwdrivers are my weakness , I can’t stop until I have tried them all....:p

(still trying to save up for my own snap-on ratchet , but if the wife catches me buying one it will be a week in the shed for sure)

I did pick up a gorgeous pair of old Ceka insulated pliers from a boot fair recently for 2 quid.

A price worth paying mate I’d say ??

.....I've got a screwdriver story...this is my second Snap-on driver,it actually does not say "do not use as a chisel or pry-bar" on the handle,as all the early ones did...and it's a good job,too ;)

I have used this model for everything...hung a 1.2 tonne MagDeutz engine on a pull-lift,off it...lever grids, doors, lintels, the lot...it deflects (engineering speak for "bend") and then pops back straight...love it.

Then, years back,i got me gear stolen, and lost this in the hit...gutted...took some time off,and me and the missus went to the states, driving about for a month, all around NewYork and New England.

We were heading through New Hampshire,and i spotted a Snap-on van,with a dude doing his rounds,so i gave chase...flashing me lights,waving arms...i think it means someat else,coz he was NOT for stopping:cool:

He finally pulls over, all dramatic, outside a bank (all camera'd up,i was told...) and locks his doors...i'm explaining to him through a 10mm window gap,and all was cool...a nice fella - spent 30 minutes, showing all his stock, new stuff...but there, clipped to the pegboard...was the item in my picture.

It went all over with us...hidden and wrapped...brought it back, with a shed load of other gear, all boxes and packaging discarded.

Not quite as good as Bruce Willis's watch story,in Pulp Fiction,as told by Mr.Walken, but have never managed to find another, for sale ?

This is me pals project,a Britool tractor service box, circa 60's.

He has done the Crackle finish, himself, and it is beautiful. Britool did this in their factory...bit of a dark-art,apparently...a lot of folk would pay dearly,to get this effect on their electric guitar bodies
