Right Guys, fairly easy one I presume...

I've been asked to find this out as a tester from my Boss. Now having delved through the Regs/On-Site Guide & even flicked into the Building Regs to see if my answer may be there...D'ya think I can find anything in English??...

Client requires Downlighters in the upsatirs hall/landing area as an addition to the lighting upstairs. His board is a Cartridge fuse type...as this is an an addition need to be RCD Protected? My thoughts are not, due to the work being an addition rather than a new circuit...quite possibly plenty more considerations (PIR Test for circuit(s) health & not overloading, but is only an exercise for me at the moment...

Had a busy 5 months. All of Year 2 Theory done & dusted with Distinctions the outcome! PHHEEEEWWWW!!! What a weight off the shoulders for now...this week anyhow. Yet to do the Regs (although we delve into them at College) be on that course in September, just getting through my L2 2330.
Cheers for any advice
Andy
