Not sure if this forum is correct but its the closest match so here goes,

a while ago i had new tv aerial installed it has two cables coming down , one for each bedroom.
one goes into kids room where it goes into a booster and feeds out to her tv. now if i turn off the booster i loose signal in the other bedroom also (any ideas why as the feed to our room comes direct from aerial and not through the booster.

currently about to re decocrate so planning on mounting existing cables into wall plates and also run another into the spare room, can the one way booster be replaced for a two way for the extra feed?

Hi, Does your arial have a small enclosure (black / brown box on it) where the coax cables are connected?

If so, you may find that you have a masthead amplifier which gets is power from the signal booster in the kids room.

If you do replace the booster, you need to ensure it is capable of supplying voltage to the feed coax for the mast head amp.

is this a diy job... are you competent..!! are you a 2 day Aerial installer who has messed up...!

think you should stop playing Aerial man and go back to sticking sockets on walls....!! christ sake man its only cables!! lol

Actually i reckon you got a Pikey from Peterlee to install your aerial!!

got you so far, i assumed the 12v supply boosted one tv then sent 12v upto box on aerial and boosted second tv, so to add a third i need to replace the booster with one with an additional way for extra set (providing signal is strong enough i assume?

ps: Durham, has tv arrived over in your neck of the woods yet? thoght you guys all just sang round the campfire ;)

So require one that can send 12v output to mast and with two outputs for tv. Third being directly from aerial, any links to find such a beast?

After doing a quick google, I am not sure there is such a thing.

Options available for additional outlets:

Replace the mast head amplifier with a larger one, and run the new coax from there.

Install signal booster after mast head PSU or in other room if more practical. Not sure on picture quality with this setup, as you may over amplify the signal.

Simply split coax after PSU or in other room. There may not be a need for any additional signal boosters.

Ok will just try a standard splitter and hopefully that will be adequate as don't fancy changing amp on the mast, but the advice has been exceptional thanks.
