I work for the JIB, ask me anything!
We try not to, but if you pay too much, then youll realise you wont get the cash back. Make sure you are paying the right amount. Why do you rip people off is the first question I can think of.
I work for the JIB, ask me anything!
I work for the JIB, ask me anything!
if your for real mate then explain me this................
I have 2360/1, 2360/2 and the 2391.
According to you sham of an organisation I can not be an approved electrician without a NVQ 3.
The letters to confirmed this cost me money.
I take it you're using a "@jib.org.uk" email address, that I can ask the mods to check against your profile??
i have Btec Level 3 , 2391, 2382, 2356 (nvq 3) what card can i get!!!???
Sure, thatl be £36.Ill buy you an ice cream?
3) Must have obtained a pass in the City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory Part 2 Course or approved equivalent.
okay.........im not going to get involved with this.
The JIB are a scam. They are no different to the scheme providers.
The OP should read his/her reply to me because it is rubbish and contridicts itself.
To NVQ 3 or not NVQ 3 that is the question.
Snore.
I don't need any hassle today, I had enough of that yesterday.
Ok why are the JIB still using the 16th edition forms for grading, don't you think that it is a little supercilious to expect us to be 17th edition trianed, but you can't be bothered to update forms.
Why if your a gold card electrician for several years, and that person takes the 2391-10, does he still have to get a letter of support from either his employee or a sponsor. I had to sponser a guy that had done a JIB apprenticeship and the Part 1 and 2 which I believe was the old 236, and nearly 25 yrs in the industry, and you would only upgrade him with a letter from me.
so what does your site say about this then...
my Btec is a level 3 in electrical installation???
Please answer Durham's question
So you work for JIB and haven't got a clue?
Except that is totally wrong.JIB Grading Definitions - Electrician Grade
rather use the official stance rather than listen to a tinpot wannabee!!
To save alot of questions, heres the card requirements:
Electrician: C&G Level 2 and 3 & NVQ 3
Approved Electrician: As above + 2391
Technician: As Above + 2400 or 2600
That does not explain why I have not been given an approved electricians card through your scam of a company.
Here are my qualifications...
2360/1
2360/2
15th edition
16th edition
17th edition
PAT 2377-12
Domestic installers cert level 2
2391
Domestic PV installation 2370-10
AM1
13 years onsite experience.
I also have a degree.
Why can I not be an 'approved' electrician?
You cannot get approved without getting electrician first, and you cannot get electrician without an NVQ level 3.That does not explain why I have not been given an approved electricians card through your scam of a company.

Why can I not be an 'approved' electrician?
Why would I be stupid enough to do that
And anyway its ecscard.org.uk.
My turn now!
Why the hell is the ECS card application form so long and confusing!?
It's like you don't want any younger trainee tradesman (or anyone else for that matter)
making their way into the trade!
You cannot get approved without getting electrician first, and you cannot get electrician without an NVQ level 3.
Alternatly you can go down the detailed job references route but that wont gaurentee you a grade.
So what you're saying is SMB's not a qualified SPARK!!!!
But the JIB give some sort of card (not a gold one) to NICEIC DI's!!! Coz they is more qualified than SMB like... they did a whole 5 days init
NO OFFENCE TO NICEIC DI'S!!!
Domestic installer cards are totally different. Grades are not really dependant on the colour, the grading is defined under the part that says "JIB Grading:" and as such you can infact get gold cards without any grading.
