Agree with the polyurethane, excellent stuff for exterior woodwork but like Gorilla Glue it pays to wear gloves when messing with it.

I’ve not seen that before on an ‘everyday’ item.

My wera Kraftform screwdrivers said on the box something about causing cancer in California and washing your hands after use....

For a bit of context, MSDS for 5% Acetic Acid. The vinegar at your local chippy is about 5% Acetic Acid, there are six more pages after this..

I think it was called Gloy glue - we always used to think it was made from boiled up bones but probably was some blend of toxic chemicals instead...!

Probably the plastifiers.

Milk protein glue .. Liquid casein is a natural glue.
Has some vinegar in the process ..
(half remembering it as a wood-butchers friend )

I think that’s PVA? Polyvinyl Acetate. School stuff was a bit yellow, but it’s generally white. It’s still widely used in furniture making.
