I've got Band I (CAT5e Ethernet and security alarm cables) and Band II (T&E cables for lights and ring mains) lying on top of thermal/acoustic insulation under a floor. I've keep them well separated, much more than 50mm, but in several places the T&E cables cross the ELV cables, and at the moment the T&E cables are just lying on top of the ELV cables where they cross. Not a problem in terms of interference I think, as the cables cross at 90 degrees, but is this acceptable in terms of safety / regulations, or should there be something placed between the Band I and Band II cables where they cross?

you can always bung in a few bits of plastic if you're concerned. offcuts from a window company cost nowt.

You could place something between but if they are only crossing I wouldn't worry too much as long as they aren't running too close in parallel . I'd say its ok

Good idea. I had thought about putting a bit of plastic trunking (without the lid) under the T&E where it crosses the ELV cables, but wasn't sure if it was really necessary.

Ive seen cable tray installs where everything was all together,at least they provided a rat run underneath and a cat walk with yes RCOs Rodent Control Operatives = CATS,big ones.
