My father, who lives a long way away and who is very independently minded, is having a small downstairs bedroom converted to take a built in spa hot tub. From what I can gather talking to him about this, the spa people will replace the two, double gang sockets with Maintenance Free junction boxes, attached in place of the backboxes. They will then bathroom wall-panel over all the walls. One junction will be behind a wall panel, which in turn, will be behind the spa that will sit against the panel. They have told him that they have an electrician who issues the appropriate paperwork once they have done the work. This all seems in order but I thought I would double check on here.

Is there RCD protection for the circuit?

At least they are using MF boxes and will certify the work unlike a lot of other companies who would just use a couple of choc blocks and some tape...

As above, cable zones are determined as horizontally or vertically from accessories such as switches and sockets. If those sockets are removed, then the cable zones are gone too.

However, cable zones can be formed by sockets on the other side of the wall.

I have seen his mains box and it is similar to mine, with one master switch and two banks of RCBs, each with an RCD. It was put in with new wiring 9 years ago.

What size (ELECTRICALLY KILOWATTS )will the Spa Hot Tub be? probably far to large for a jointed 13 Amp socket, need a bit more info or a site visit required

Don't think there is any intention to power the hot tub from the RFC. The OP's question is about removing sockets closer than 3m.
A local electrician was briefed by the spa people and he will be putting an extra RCB in, and an outdoor cable down one side of the house, from the garage, where the main RCD/RCB box is, to a rotary isolater outside the wall where the spa will be.

Sounds like they need to joint the cables in the ceiling so live cables don't remain in the wall if there's no sockets on its reverse, as others have said, if this is the case their solution would be non compliant

Thank you all for your help and expertise. I have persuaded him to have sockets put on the oposite sides of the walls to the existing at a mirror location, prefereably with no cable extension but if necessary, with the MF junctions to extend the cables. This would help protect the cable zones. Also that if they use the MF junctions, that I would make him up a label for each new surface box, giving the juction location. My thanks again to all who contributed.
