Hi I wondered if anyone could help out!

What are the regulations for a boiler in a wet room? the room is about 3 x3 with the shower in one corner and the boiler in the other, its not in touch distace from the shower but being a wet room does the total floor space become the shower try??

The property has 16mm main earth and 10mm to gas & water pipework and a 17th edition fuseboard in place.

any help on this would be appriciated

The boiler is fed from the ring circuit via a switched fused spur which is place in the hallway with a flex passing through the wall to the boiler the other side

yep. a good fart in the shower could cause blowback on the boiler, casing the fan to catch fire as it's not wired with a 3A fuse.

The plumber has checked his regs and they allow him to install in a wet room, what are the zones for a wet room? I was on the understanding the entire floor space became zone 1

as the user could be adjusting the controls on the boiler while stood bare footed in water

BS7671 does not specify zones for a wet room. will be an excuse for an amendment costing us another £100 for regs and OSG.

Here are the zones for showers without basins.

However the equipment still has to be suitable for the environment it is in, most combi-boilers local controls are SELV, but it's IP ratings could be a problem.

The Gas-safe regs I have no idea of.

The wet room is part of a new extension, I need to supply an EIC for the completed electrics carried out but this boiler in a wet room was concerning me, I was pushing the builder to erect an cupboard around it which he hasnt priced to do so will be please with the comments suggesting it ok and safe to leave as is.

I was going to ring Elecsa my governing tomorrow to see there thoughts but now wondering if its worth it on comments so far!

a cupboard around the boiler would be a logical step, but if builder does it, you'll never be able to get at the boiler, he'll probably drill into cables and make a complete FUBAR of the whole job.

Not sure I'd be happy with a combi in a steamy wet-room. The cheapy way stuff is made these days I reckon there'd be some corrosion starting after a few years. Daz.
