I have supplied my landing light with a neutral direct from the ccu, due to previously having a neutral from the upstairs ring and the live being fed from dow
nstairs. When I fitted a 17th board and had the upstairs lights on one side and the downstairs on the other obviousely the RCD keep tripping. Carrying out this neutral has sorted the tripping however officially an upstairs light is on the downstairs lighting circuit . My question is, is this ok as this CCU job is forming an elecsa assessment piece?

You just need to somehow document this setup, maybe by just adding +landing on the CU label.

How did you take just the neutral from the CU? Wouldn't it have been better to take L&N (+E) from CU and put it on the breaker for the upstairs lights?

When I come across this I take a T&E from the cu to the light and put it on the same mcb as it should be and fill the cert in as an having 2 circuits on the mob eg 2a and 2b and describe accordingly.

makes you wonder dont it

If the landing light is fed from the downstairs circuit there will be an upstairs light on the downstairs circuit.
If the landing light is fed from the upstairs circuit there will be a switch downstairs on the upstairs circuit.

Catch 22.
Wireless switch?

Thank you very much for your advice, I'll add a label onto the relevant mcb detailing that the landing light is also included on that circuit and also add a a comment on th EIC. I haven't taken a live up there as then both upstairs and downstairs circuits will again be joined, instead the live arrives at the three plate upon activation of the landing switch by a single live cable.
