There is , I worked for BP for awhile , mainly at the depots , warehouses and offices in Manchester and Birmingham .
I am the same , it was in the early 80's and my memory is not great , but there are very strict controls on lighting etc.

Well I missed that bit lol. They have just built a Greggs take away about 100 feet from the pumps on the forecourt of our local Shell filling station , so I will join you lol.

I cannot find a place to get a 16a to 32a adapter? So Im thinking a way around it is to use a 16a plug to a standard plug > then running an extension lead off that to run the bare minimum items in the van, bypassing the inlet on my van altogether.

Is this an option??

NO. get a 32A lead and replace the 32A plug (supply end) with a 16A plug.

Didnt even know you could do that!

Is it difficult/should I definitely get someone else to do it for me, if so then who do you think could/would at short notice?
Or can I do it myself?

Just watched a video which basically shows you just have to strip down to 9mm then use the colour coded holes for the corresponding wires and snap on, then twist closed?

That sounds like my kind of skill level!

For your own safety, get a local electrician to do it.
