In addition, the maximum distance permitted by most DNOs for meter tails is 3metres. Any more than that and you would require SWA cable and a switch fuse. As above, you'll need a competent electrician to design and install this, also to co-ordinate with the DNO for the seals at the cut out to be removed and the service fuse removed, unless you happen to have an isolator already fitted.

And if its an existing consumer unit, you may need a load of twin and earth or whatever cable is used to supply the circuits fed from the board as they could potentially need extended now to reach the new board.
