NICEIC Certification Scheme consumer upgrade for niceic ok ??

HI all
I am going for domestic installer with niceic would a consumer upgrade to 17th edition with a socket spur be ok for assesment i would of cause do a full EIC certificate for consumer up grade and minor works cert for socket spur and go through local borough council controle what would i expect examiner to be looking for ,i have 2330 lv2 +lv3 with 17th update and in process of taking 2391 any help would be greatfull

hi,, when u have don it can u let me know plz, cus i just don 17th ed regs, plus a Part P course but --- never taught us anything about testin and wat wud be required to join NIC

Yes the new CU and spur will be fine but these will need to be at diff sites within 20mins drive so new CU in one property and the spur in another property.
The examiner will be testing your knowlage of bs7671 2008 and testing/inspection as well as your installations.

Kung. For the minor job - the socket on a spur - does that mean the full range of tests on that circuit? Continuity and polarity, insulation resistance, calculated and measured Zs, Ze, RCD disconnection times? As well as main bonding continuity and supplementary bonding? I suppose as per the Minor works Cert.

you only have to do th EIC for that job and then state on work covered that you have done bot csu and spur then you'll have to find a different peice of work for the second site. I just had my yearly visit and was dead lucky that i had done the csu early in the year then added a circuit for an extension.

Just relax in will be over before you know it ! tips are
1) Make him a cuppa
2) Get an afternoon apt pref on a friday as he will want to get home and try to beat the traffic you might find this easier as he might not want to see second site after tea etc the hotter the tea the better (less time on assessment) if you make a good impression from the start you should be fine as he will prob be able to judge within the first 15-20min if your compitant.
if all else fails try eating garlic before he arrives ! less questions asked.

been q s with present employer for 10 yrs nic inspector only checked 1 job seemed to be more interested in paperwork and my general knowledge of testing and inspection and if i understood what the results meant .I have got my yearly visit next week its always a bit nerve racking

Yer Jason i use it before i pick the mother in law up by the time she gets here she never stays long ! dammm just gave my tip away bet now the guys from niceic will be supplied vix for use before assessments !
