I'm looking for cordless kit at mo, I stumbled across cel uk. looked a bit of an Amstrad but i contacted them direct and they reckon they use the same motors etc as makita / dewalt.

still awaiting a response regarding if they are retro motors or current etc.

but they insist they are as good as makita / dewalt.

I have been in contact with the PA of the MD

I am absolutely reluctant to part with any money unless I can try first and the fact it was on the gadget show is a massive turn off as they make it all out in there sales patter to be DIY stuff but also reckon its for the professional.

words are words and tools in hand is another thing

Half tempted to stick with makita and roll on but look at the price and li-ion are coming soon.

no sds though.

Power8Workshop?????????????????????

EDIT
just had another closer look on new site as above, looks cheap lol

they give a one year warranty and at £359 FOR A 18v cordless HAMMER / DRIVER, CIRCY, light AND JIG it could be a handy little starter pack for those with low budget.

Any thoughts guys. they say they are a british company by the way

I've got this, the Duration model, paid about £350 for it around 18 months ago.

I'm a plumber so I don't do a lot of wood working but I use the hammer drill most days for some pretty heavy work. Considering its cordless I cant fault the quality. Its as good as the day I bought it.

Had a prob with the charger and got it replaced within about 3 days. Nice people, called up and spoke to someone who sorted it out themselves didn't pass me around.

They did mention Li-ion, and said that when they release them that they will fit all the tools ive already got.

Used the jig saw a fair bit, its not fancy but its never failed, really comfortable to use.
Cordless circular saw is nice to have. Perfect for ripping floorboards, I guess if i used these saws more i'd get a mains one anyway.

I was happy with the kit and the service so i got one of the multi2pro multitools off them as well, mates with fein ones were sceptical but i love it.

They are in Bristol, so I can pop over as its not too far from me to go for a trial.

It looks really useful system and cracking idea but cant help think the build quality isn't there and when looking closer at the marketing it shows. I have a cheap jig saw in my box and that is years old and still works fine also a cheap circy for abusive use. Cheap tools can be very useful in my opinion as when they go wrong you just replace. At about 50 for a cordless piece its got to be a bargain plus there is an impact driver that can be added too.

But when you use a really well engineered piece its a different car your driving.

with this kit I doubt I will use the table saw ect very often at all but could come in well handy EDIT to cut strips of timber to bridge, support plaster board alterations for one.

I might well pop over for a trial.

Glad you find it a good purchase suds.. how you find the batteries there engineer said he used the two batteries to cut the bottom off a door. Litium- ion sound very much needed. They said they are coming in December along with additional tools.

the saw definitely sucks the juice out of the batts faster than the other tools dunno about 2 batts for one door tho. I can drill 15mm through 2 layers of brick with one charge and thats using a batt thats been worked hard for over a year. Used to run cables to my sds drill but it doesnt come out of the van much anymore.

hadnt heard about the impact driver, might grab that and a new batt soon

I don’t have one myself, but a couple of joiners I work with have them++ and they think they are great. When I change my cordless I will invest in one of these.

Haven't popped to see them yet.

cant help think the tools will be retro in function and the tool box multi function is too small and lightweight. thus DIY standard rather than professional.

how did they do in the Den? missed that

Nice quote from Theo not!

Re: plumbing invention.

There is electrics in it and people are not allowed to do DIY electrics anymore ( good )
but then follows; there is a cost associated to that and thus a no go.

That basically suggests to the masses to avoid electrical installations. ( not good )

Hmmmmm!!!

i thought that waste pipe extractor fan was a good idea...if it meets a standard that costs loads then its gotta make money because its the cheaper tidier option

they dont have an industrial size one which was one reason for not investing...cant be hard to do tho...
