....Your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating.
Possibly a slight over reaction, but the customer I just signed up had apparently had 8 different companies salesmen round including the might dragons den wonders Ploughcroft Solar, and erm they were pretty much desperate to sign up with us there and then after my site visit tonight as I was the only one who actually knew what I was talking about.
Out of the other 7 companies, none had discussed any issues with noise from putting hte inverter in the walk in wardrobe in the bedroom, none had discussed the problems of inverters overheating in warm loft spaces, or how this could be reduced, and none had mentioned any potential issues with the roof structure or even done proper measurements of the timbers... despite it having purlins that span a full 6 meters without any central supports, which is the sort of span we've had to do roof strengthening work on before.
but also, thank **** for that, as we'd just lost a job to a company who'd persuaded the customer that our system wouldn't fit on the roof, presumably because they'd not realised we were using 1300mm panels instead of the 1650mm panels they would have been using... despite our site survey confirming the roof measurements exactly, and us having about 200mm to spare (around a velux in an awkward place). Fuming I was.
