OK, here's the problem.i have a test monitor for CCTV . works great, saves loads of time having a hand held monitor up on the ladder to adjust cameras. now i find that the buggers have done what they did with TV. (my 3" casio TV now useless). likewise my £150 monitor, because it's analogue. wwhat i need ( if there is such an animal) is a converter to go between a digital camera and convert to analogue for my monitor. not prepared to spend a fortune on new monitor. anyone got an idea?

What flavour digital... SDI? And does it need to scale HD to SD? If so, BMD do a basic one in their 'mini converter' range that sells for £150 or so. Not sure if that's cost-effective for your application but it's about as good value as you will get for a brand name product. You can go lower but their scaling tends to be poor. OTOH you can pay £1k for a really good one.

I reckon Tel's fell off that ladder....
He was probably hoping to do it with some BNC plugs,a thermistor, and some foil... ;)

There's another method. Connect the SDI directly to the analogue monitor, then simply don a pair of my special 'X-converter-Spex'* to view the screen.

*Mail order only, £149.99 per pair, results may vary, 120V AC 60Hz only, may cause drowsiness, do not operate machinery bla bla.

i take it that's a no-no then. all i can find is audio converters. so, due to the big concerns, my test gear is now obsolete, along with my portable TVs, VCRs, now microsuff is withdrawing support for windoze 7. all a scam to drain our wallets.

I'm right behind you,pal....things have gone south, ever since them new-fangled looms arrived...
Who needs a plentiful supply of standardised of yarn, when you can beat flax in to serviceable pair of britches...if the harvest was good ;)

all gone to pot these days. long gone are the days when i earned £20 for just wire brushing the pins on a pentode valve

...and all so somebody had an interference free episode of bill and ben...?
\\\\\\\\\\\\\flob a dob a dob....weeeeed.
