Hi all, I am new to the forum, just passed my 18th edition but was working in different industry for a number of years. I have 2 questions that am hoping some of you experts out there can help with, all based on domestic works:
1) If I move a socket about a metre on the same wall do I need to provide minor works cert, do I need to fit RCBO if there is no existing rcd protection?
2) When you change out a CU, do I need to notify Scottish hydro so they can cut seal on fuse or can I just cut & then get them in to replace seal once complete?
Thanks in Advance,S

1. you should provide a minor works cert. even if it only shows the basic test readings. RCD protection must be added to the new work, preferably to the whole circuit.
2. different DNOs have their own rules, some allow you to cut seals and give you temp. seals. usually only if you're NICEIC (or Select in Jockland).
