hi everyone

I did an EAL level 3 and have just finished my city & guilds NVQ3. I have received my unit credits but not my main c&g certificate.

I had to do a EAL to C&G bridging unit that consisted of the wiring or an army barracks. I’m wondering is it possible to mix the EAL with the city and guilds NVQ and still get the full certificate?, as I got my unit credits 2 months ago but no main certificate. My college keeps telling me it’s fine and it’s coming but I called c&g and they said my college only claimed for unit credits. They are both sending me round in circles and I’m worried I won’t get the full certificate, which means I won’t get my gold card. Does anyone have any info or knowledge of what happens in a situation like this?

Many thanks

I would email C&G so that you have something in writing and then forward it to your college and ask what's going on.

I have emails back and forth to both and I’ve been CC’ing each other in. They reakon they can’t put a date on in it and are waiting for AQA and the counter checking department to to their part.

I find it odd that c&g are so unhelpful, especially when I asked how long is the checking process, I was told:

“Well, how longs a peice of string”

C&G are notoriously unhelpful and obstructive as are their badly worded questions in exams. They will not enter into any meaningful conversation with you. They only deal with the accredited centre. All questions by students must go through the centre. Who then take it to C&G.
