Apologies if this appears like a simple question. I have carried out a survey of a Zone 2 area and one piece of equipment, an enclosure, is fitted and only identifiable by manufacturers name plate and a stuck on EEx ia sticker. No Atex data plate. The previous survey (visual) gave some details of the enclosure but nothing on T rating or certification details.
Is the non Ex equipment suitable for the area with EEx ia equipment only inside? EEx ia Equipment in Zone 2 Area P1040430.JPG - EletriciansForums.net

If the panel is in a hazardous area and contains only simple apparatus it is OK.

If the panel is in a safe area it can contain anything obviously but needs to be designed/constructed with the correct creepage/clearance distances etc.

The loop/system as a whole is certified.

The fact it’s missing a name plate with serial numbers etc would make it an ATEX in either case.
