Hi there.

I’m looking for some professional advice.

I recently bought Beko Cooker model KDC653S, it doesn’t come with the electricity cable and according to the manual it require H05W-FG 3X4mm or equivalent with total power consumption of 10KW.

I called all local shops including electricity specialist suppliers and couldn’t find the required cable (H05W-FG). However my local electric shop recommended an industrial (H07BN4-F) cable which fits many heat and oil resistant category and its 6m.
I checked online and although its 6mm it’s only rated for 1000v and the copper stands inside it looks very thin in compare with other cables.

My rough calculation suggest that the conventional oven itself consume 2.2kw which is higher than the cable rating of 1000V. I think I'm missing something.

Any suggestion pretty please

TL;DR
Can H07BN4-F cable replace a H05W-FG cable for an electric cooker with 10kW power consumption?

The cable the electrical shop have recommended will be fine. The only possible issue will be whether the thicker cable will fit in the cable grip on the terminal box of the oven - but for a range that powerful it should have been designed to cope...

The 10kW quoted means 10000 Watts, which is a combination of Voltage (240V ish in the UK) x Amps (Current). Higher current needs thicker cable, so in the above case the cable in theory needs to be able to take 41 Amps - though it will almost certainly never reach that.

What rating Fuse/Breaker is this being run from? Hopefully that's already in place from a previous install as all that needs to be able to cope with this too.

If in doubt, get an electrican to install it, quick job and you have the benefit of knowing everything is fine

You, sir, are an optimist! Many of these ovens, and their terminal boxes, are designed for three phase supplies and the terminals, box and grip are designed for the 1.5mm2 5C that would be used.
