Good evening,
Some advice please. The heating we had in our bathroom is no longer working and the option open to me is installing an electric radiator in there. The location best suited to this is going to be close to a free standing bath. I have enclosed a photograph of the proposed location.

I know that there are lots of conditions when installing anything electrical in the bathroom (although, as a non electrician) I am not sure exactly what they are. Would you be able to advise on what I would need to consider.

The radiator I am looking to install is a closed mild steel 1000mm width electric radiator from VogueUk, image attached also

Your advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Steve

if that blank plate covers what may have been a socket, if it'd 600 mm from bath, you could fit a FCU.

This is the overview of the electric radiator I am looking to install, thanks

Hi Telectrix thanks for the response. Yes that plate is a socket, having just measured it from the rim of the bathroom to the plate, it is 630mm. I will get an electrician in to do this but just wanted to know some details about whether its feasible first of all. Dumb question, is fitting an FCU straight forward.
Thanks
Steve

Yes there is definitely a live circuit behind the plate. Is that a go go go then do you think

What is the measurement of A (green line)?

Also make sure the controller is furthest away from the bath. May seem obvious but people have made that mistake in the past.

Does that mean it may not be feasible as it’s not 60cm plus. It is directly but not by that measurement

There other consideration is an RCD protected circuit. Otherwise it’ll work a treat.

As it is in zone 2 it must be suitable for use, check with the manufacturer.

Circuit must have 30mA RCD protection and accessories must be IPX4.

Great thanks Strima, Rpa7, Buzz and Telectrix. That all sounds positive. I will check with the manufacturer in relation to Zone 2. There is an RCD on the main board downstairs(I know there is a tech name for the board)
Thanks again
Steve
