Hello,

Could someone please help define the term "Electrician-Winder".I have been doing some geneology and discovered a relative who had this as his job title.Would this have involved testing equipment or simply winding coils on electrical motors etc?

hi there

you could be correct about winding motors but there was also the job of winding transformers for things such as early electric trams dc Shunt motors etc
