Example of EICR

Has anyone got an example of a basic EICR completed. If not does anyone know where I can find one?

That is the best and probably the only most sensible advise you could get.

the only other advice is look in Chris Kitchers practical guide to inspection and testing but that shows the old PIR, not a EICR. Depends why you want it really, the on site guide gives you exactly what you asked for

Why are you looking for a FILLED in one? There was a guy asking same other day his questions and answers looked like he was going to copy results ???

Hi Goody I looked at your links to nosey to be honest but noticed on both reports that next to each observation there is no relevant regulation numbers, please tell me I'm not the only one that does this, my NICEIC inspector told me I have to Note these down?

On the new EICR Inspection Schedule for Domestic and Similar Premises upto 100amp, section 2 through 6 will all have the relevant regulation number assigned to a task, they do in the BGB, and I'm sure the schemes will have similar.

Those EIR posted by Goody are pre EICR, and there was no call for quoting of relevant regulations. Quite a few electricians did actually put reg numbers down to give credence to their findings.

I personally was not one of them, I would in my quote identify that the report was carried out to the BS 7671-2008 though of course if challenged I would quote a relevant reg and then put it in writing in a cover letter. After all how many house holders would have a clue what reg your talking about.

I may of course if it was a commercial/industrial report quote a regulation as the company may have someone on site who did indeed know the regulations.

The IET have decided now that people should know the relevant reg numbers, if they still have no clue what it means, but I suppose it's more of a guide to the tester.

I think the new EICR's are a much more logical approach and record of a testing and inspection job and act as a good check list for electricians undertaking the work

I can sort of see the point of quoting the reg numbers, especially given some of the threads here where we disagree with how something has been assessed

However I don't think there has been any mention of this on my 2395 course and I assumed the new EICR sections 2 to 6 does this for you so you don't need to put codes in section K. Am I right or has there been some specific guidance from this? (and I don't mean from NICEIC, they seem to like adding rules that don't exist! )

As Far as I can remember none of the IET guides such as the OSG/GN 3 advised on the old PIR that you should put a regulation number on it, but some guys did in section 9, observations, put the observations backed up with Reg numbers.

As said before I never did this unless I was sure there was someone who read it had a knowledge of the Regulations, and most often as not there wasn't.

The new EICR does on the new Inspection Sheets list relevant regs, but I think this is purely as a guide to the tester.

Those are the ones I stumbled on when did a search and I have simply posted those links. As you would have noticed, they don't have my name on them!

As far I am concerned I do not see the need to put down any code on them. malcolmsanford probably made it clear in his post.

I am certainly not looking to copy, I was unsure about reference methods as somethimes people use the "100" and others use "C". Which is mostly applicable to the typical domestic property?
