fire break

been looking through building regs but cant find the answer i am looking 4

now when ever i install down lights in a down stairs ceiling or ceiling with a room above i install fire rated
but was mentioned today that a room which is in the same property the ceiling is not acualy a fire break ceiling so does not need fire rated
but i feel more at ease using fire rated
your views please

my only exception is lofts were i us standard and use a 12" clat flower pot to stop objects falling over fitting

Now that FR fittings are so cheap why would you not? Long gone are days that fitting and hood were £20. Now screwfix do a twist bezel fitting for less than £8 with FP built in. Always play safe !!
