Discuss Fluke discount at trade show? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hello. I'm doing my Part P at the minute and will be qualified in the summer. I haven't even started looking at testing equipment yet. What testing equipment can you not live without as a starter? Thanks

What is Part P? I have a lot of city and guild qualifications and decades of experience but have never taken a part p course, does that mean I am not an Electrician?

You need a MFT and if you are planning on doing domestic you need an earth clamp meter.

Then you needs lots of other tools too - so budget about £2k

Then there is small matters of insurance and scheme membership ..... advertising ...........

So then the budget goes up to about £5K

Bloody hell was that necessary? Exactly what did I say to upset you so much? Have I offended you or are you just incredibly sarcastic?

Thank you very much for your reply. Much appreciated. I am new to all this so it is refreshing to have a helpful response from someone.

Best you peruse the business section ............ there are very many threads like this.

You should have a target of £6K profit for year 1 .................... that is probably realistic if you think you are going to be self employed.

Not offended at all, I have a thick skin, I have been working on construction sites my whole life and have learnt to have a good laugh and personality, it is almost unheard of that I get offended, however My question still has not been answered.

But that is not an electrical qualification is it? and you said you would be qualified with it in the summer, hence my question about this new electrical qualification we have not heard of.
