Future ECA - UNITE Electrical Pay Structure

Hi this is my first post on here!

I received a txt today from a fellow electrician, this is one of many txts that are banding about at the moment it says .......

"Sparks at Smiths got letter today, new rates..... metalwork £10.50hr, wiring £12hr, glanding & terminating £14hr from March 2012!"

I phoned a friend who sits on the JIB in London and he confirmed various contractors have issued this letter to its employees over the past couple of weeks, Tommy Clarks, Bks, Balfours etc.

Have any of you guys received such a letter?


The question I have to ask is how can this be done without any consultation with the employees, the company & the union? What is the Union doing?


I have heard there will be march's in London & Leeds, anyone confirm times & dates etc?

There is a meeting OUTSIDE T2a, Heathrow tomorrow as Clown House and Balfours won't allow union access on site!!!. It's on another thread on here somewhere. Shop Stewards are meeting in Leeds on the 18th August and then they are meeting the Managing Directors of these mobs 5 days later.
