I'm looking at installing some garden lighting to my garden.

I have a fairly large garden which has fencing down one side with hedge and shrub features. I'd like to light up these features gling down the garden.

My first thoughts are garden spike lights. However, I have never looked at this type of project before and I dont know much about these. Lots of questions on these, would ELV garden spikes be a better option than LV?, What brands would be a wise choice, do they usually come pre flexed?

Next is the switching. I want to be able to switch these lights, plus other garden lights from my house. I think maybe an RF controller may be a good option? Any suggestions?

I will draw out a rough sketch of my current setup tomorrow including, current electrical supply to workshop, current lighting and proposed set up etc

Here is the current and proposed set up.

The biggest issue I see is I need to switch both the decking and shrub lights separately and they are quite far apart from each other. I'd say around 8 metres apart.

I put some Hue Lily lights in my garden, along with some of its outdoor strip lighting. Expensive but simple to install and set up.

I paid about £160 for pack of three. Bit dearer at the moment. And you’ll need a Bridge if you want to WiFi control them, although I think they are Bluetooth as well now.
