When running the 10mm Main Protective bonding to the Gas in a semi recessed gas meter box, how do you enter the box with the cable?
The reason I am asking is:
1) The pipe sleeve for the gas pipe can not contain the earth as it is not 25mm separation. (yes I know it will attach to the pipe anyway).
2) The gas fitter says we can not make another hole into the box as it is not allowed.

you can run the bonding cable alonside the gas pipe. the 25mm separation is relevant to live conductors. (by live, i mean line and neutral.)

Fit a green earth clamp outside the box and put lots of vasoline on connections so my boyfriend said

Hi - this from a Voltimum article :
“BS 6891:2005 Installation of low pressure gas pipework in domestic premises, clause 8.16.2 states that gas installation pipes must be spaced at least 150mm away from electricity meters, controls, electrical switches or sockets, distribution boards or consumer units. There should also be a separation between a supply or distribution cable of at least 25mm for domestic pipework up to 35mm or 50mm for pipework over 35mm.”

Note they say supply or distribution cable, not bonding, as per @telectrix in post #3.

Q & A of the Day - How far away from a gas pipe should a cable be? - https://www.voltimum.co.uk/articles/q-day-how-far-away-gas-pipe-should

I don't think it's anything to do with separation, the applicable regulation is concerning suitable means of support for an electrical cable. I'm fairly certain that means independent of other services are required. I do not have the BBB to hand but will have a look and see if I can find applicable regs tomorrow.
