The original heating element for my oven is no longer available and the replacement part has different connections. Im looking for advice if i can still connect this as a DIY project or should i get in a specialist?

Ive attached photos of the old and new elements and connections, the original has the single terminal port and the replacement appears to have a double terminal port, any and all advice welcome

Assuming it has the same power rating then you can connect it up as it was before.
One wire to each end of the element.

In the picture it looks like ends of the new element stick out a bit further, just check that there is room for this in the appliance and that it won't cause the terminals to be squashed against anything in there.

The double terminals will not affect your application, it's probably a universal element designed to work in multiple appliances, some of which will use both terminals.

Thanks for the response Dave, im not a fan of electricity and changing a light bulb or a heating element is about as adventurous as i get so appreciate the help

My post above is based on experience of a customer who moved her free standing cooker slightly, resulting in a bang and loss of power.
Investigation found the 'smoking gun' of a large black soot mark and sputtered brass on the inside of the rear cover, and a damaged oven spade connector. It was a three oven appliance, and comparison with the other similar element showed that it was a pattern replacement, with the terminals projecting further back.
Moving the oven must have caused just enough flexing of the back to short to the terminal.
