Hi

I have bought a small fan and it is a 12v dc It has a thin red and black wire attached. I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to tell me how to power this fan. Was wondering if there could be some kind of mains adaptor I could buy or would I need a battery. Thank you very much

I have a link to the website I purchased it from

A 12V DC power supply should see you right:

Regulated Power Supply - 600mA - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SK661400.html

Old computer power supply pushes out 12V, what are you going to use it for?

Any DC 12V power supply rated over 2W or 180mA would work, such as that suggested by Jim_e_Jib above, you would also need a 12 DC barrel adaptor with screw terminals to connect the blower wire to allow you to plug the fan into the power supply.

Hi there, it is just to put on top of a shelf to redistribute a small amount of heat coming from a gas fire below.

Sounds a bit mad but just to clarify, the shelf above gets SLIGHTLY warm from the fire below. If I position a free standing fan near the area it keeps the area quite cool. So it's not a major issue, just looking for a little fan to do the job. Thanks for the advice received, very much appreciated

that what I call a wilted fan, is that still under guarantee.
