I have convinced my boss that i need an I phone for work and i was wondering what apps people have found useful for work :)

Elec toolkit. Angry birds very addictive made the mistake of buying the full version after having trial did not put phone down for near on a month...

Tapatalk - Forum App on the iPhone, Android, Nokia, and BlackBerry for vBulletin, phpBB, IPBoard, and SMF - so you can use the forum better on the phone during the day. You can take a snap, upload it to the forum, and ask or get comments on it, right there on the job! Then reply to everybody that responds right there too!

:D

I have around 150 apps but use about 5. So it goes to show they're a bit of a gimmick. Though there are some good apps about that aren't just games. There's a spirit level app too lol Not a drill-driver one though I'm afraid.

Sorry to be so 'doh', but is this Tapatalk thing a shortcut/app thing for the smartphone that links straight to forums, and specifically this forum?

plants v zombies, angry birds, cut the rope, flip kick football have fun :D

how do you know somebody has an iphone?
they tell you.

Mine just seems to attract every bit of brick and plaster rubbish possible and gets scratched to hell

It's an application that allows you to browse many forums, including this one, using a smart interface that is easy to use and works a bit like an email system on most phones. You add this forum (and our plumbing, tiling, plastering and contractors forums too wink wink) to your favourites and there you go, you have the full works right there on your phone for whenever you have a questions to ask professional tradesmen in the other trades, not just yours.

An already well used app for the sparky forum but our tilers and plumbers are yet to pick it up to be honest. Some use it, but not half as much as here.

I think sparky's are just more affluent with technology so that'll be the reason you guys use it so much here.

Bejeweled 2,Facebook, doodle jump, angry birds, flashlight, sickipedia and if ya using iTunes at home ( which you almost certainly will be if you get an iPhone) the Remote app is the nuts for controlling your iTunes music library from your phone, provided you already have a wireless network, the addition of an Airport express gives you instant multi room music for about £70 a room.

wow i need an i phone :D mind with the governments newest decision on tuition fees today i could be waiting 30 years before i can afford one

Thank god the boss supplies mine. Although saying that i had to fork out £200 to get the wifes phone upgraded to one as she can't see me with anything or she wants it. Told you before she is demanding.:D

Be warned there is a "find my iPhone" app, could be fatal if you AND the mrs Has one, lol, no sneaky mid week slurps in the local when your supposed to be working, ha.

Revised iphone 4 next june / july.
Still will not support '4G' unlike most of the compatition.

iPhone 5 will support 4G, but that is not until 2012

iv got an iphone 4. flick kick football is a good app. does anyone know where i can get a decent clear screen protector or something to protect the front screen. The screen protectors iv bought off ebay are crap and keep getting bubbles in them.

If you go the Apple store the screen protectors are a bit dearer but they will put them on for you and will make sue they are perfectly fitted I think they use a piece of adhesive film to clean the screen first, I think they is a real knack to putting them on as I have gone through over ten screen protectors of varying quality and have found that some will go on fine and some will be full of bubbles. I have come to they conclusion that dust seems to be a bit of culprit for bubbles so now when I fit then I make sure the phones is well cleaned, my hands and arms are washed, sleeves rolled up and that the surface irest the phone on has been wiped with a wet cloth and is still damp whilst Im fitting the protector as this seems to reduces the possibility of dust or fibre getting between the screen and the protector.

Even better - I believe the iPhone 5 will bounce. It will still not perform well in a washing machine when left in pants pockets. Both essential features in my view ;-)
