Hi does anyone know how I identify a washer size??

A few years ago I got given about 500 washers and they have been brilliant for using when hanging large CU's etc.

I have had a look online but am confused by all types etc

The washer is around the same size of a 2p piece and the hole fits a 5x50mm screw perfectly.

Cheers Lenny, am just going to order a load more. As sad as it sounds I am lost without them.

Think they also go by the name penny washers as in the old coinage, the centre hole is the M rating so M5 is 5mm M6 is 6mm and so on..... then the overall diameter is up to you to choose from.

They are sometimes called mudguard washers but this name has virtually died out and the places I buy from now call them repair washers

also useful for fixing 500w halogen floods.the holes in the brackets are far too big

Hi,

we have used various sizes for a long time now, i order repair washers and ask for heavy duty which are made of thicker material
