Hello All,
I am a subscriber [free] to `Wiring Matters` the IET online Electrical Industry magazine and today I received the reminder email for the September edition which has an article titled `Electrical Qualifications` - I have sometimes seen Members asking questions on the Forum about the `official qualifications` that define a qualified Electrician - as it might be helpful to some Members / Readers in the future here is a link to the article:

I don`t know whether the details are a `comprehensive guide` or describe all routes to becoming a qualified Electrician but I am sure that Members will post some further comments / information which might add to the overall qualification requirements and be helpful in future searches.
I did note that there is a paragraph about `Domestic Installers` where it states that although many Electricians are Domestic Installers - Domestic Installers [who have not qualified as Electricians] are not considered by the Industry to be Electricians.
