Immersion heaters

I am struggling to find the basic principles of immersion heaters, plus the advantages and disadvantages anywhere on the internet could someone please help thanks.

Your question is odd to say the least. Why are you asking this question?

basic principle is that they are glorified resistors. bang a P.D. across them and they get hot, thus heating the water by heat transfer. simple conversion of electrical energy ( watts ) into heat energy ( joules/calories ).

advantage is you can have a hot bath. disadvantage is they cost money to run.
