Just after opinions. See what the general consensus is. Who thinks this is acceptable and who thinks its not

The greatest number of complaints to the Environment Officer in any Council is light pollution onto neighbours properties, should be a shielded light positioned so its own illumination is on or just below the fence line.

It does look a bit over the top (of the gate), as well as lighting up next doors bathroom.
It looks like it's taken from the back of the house so depends if it's causing upset, I suppose.
Might be an idea for blinding burglars...

It depends if it's somehow causing annoyance to the property on the left with the light shining on what's either a landing or bathroom window.

The property on the left could be grateful for the neighbour paying to light up the sides of both houses possibly detering unwanted persons wandering around the back of either house.
Although looking a U-tube videos, car thieves and burglars are no longer intimidated by external lights, CCTV or Ring door bells.

Is it a floodlight pointing out or just a very bright wall mounted bulkhead type light?
Has the property owner on the left spoken to the owner of the light about it?

can't comment on whether it's acceptable or not without seeing what it's wired with, is it securely fixed; is it's IP rating compliant? etc., etc. ??

Even a bulkhead with an LED lamp would shine into the upstairs window.

I believe there are rules concerning floodlights if they shine down a road, blinding drivers, but maybe a chat with local council might shed some light.....

Couldn't resist... sorry
