Hello all,
New to testing so be gentle please.
I understand the basics of continuity and ins resistance tests on rings and radials.
What I am not sure about is polarity.
At what point am I testing for polarity, what does it prove and how do I do it?
SIMPLE answers would be much appreciated

cheers Gerry

When... as you go along doing the T&I is probably best. Different bits can/should be done at different points of the T&I

Why... to ensure switches, protection and accessories (eg, ES lamp-holders) are correctly installed.

There are instructions in many manuals including BS7671, OSG, etc.

polarity tested both live and dead - the latter usually confirmed during continuity testing and live with an approved volt indicator :)
