Thanks for your response. It is the ceiling landing light. We’ve tried two new light bulbs and tried the bedroom light bulb which didn’t work eitherMore detail please.
Was this a ceiling light, table lamp?
Try a known good light bulb in same fitting. Maybe new bulb was faulty?
And in bayonet fittings, occasionally one of the spring loaded contact pins fails to extend after being compressed as you remove the old lampscrew in lamps can be an issue if the center terminal has become bent back a little and is not contacting the back of the lamp.
If this is the case, turn off power to house (big red switch) use a torch and gently tease the canter spring forward a little.
