This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?

Hello Guys,

I'm 27 and looking to get work as an improver / mate so that I can complete the NVQ.

I have the City and Guilds Level 2 and 3 in Electrical Installations as well as the 18th edition.

Prior to the pandemic I managed to work with a local electrician for just over a month, but unfortunately that is the only experience that I have apart from college.

I have emailed hundreds of companies and factories with no luck and to be honest I'm really starting to feel like it will never happen.

I'm also willing to do an apprenticeship providing that it is a liveable wage.

I'm happy to work away as well.

I have most hand tools and I also drive.

Please shoot me a message if you can help at all as I'm really desperate for some work now.

Do you have your CSCS green card or some sort of ECS card to allow you to work on sites?

If not, I would suggest you get one.

You haven't mentioned that you have tried this avenue but might be worth signing up with an agency to try to get work....who know's where it will lead. I think most will insist you have the suitable H&S card and your own PPE.

Good luck

Hello sloughrookie,

Yes, I have an ECS card. I noticed that I forgot to add that to the original post, but now I don't know how to edit it to add it.

I have applied to a few agencies around for improver / mate work, but I just don't ever see anything advertised around here for it.

Thanks for the comment though mate.

Which card are you applying for? To apply for the electrical labourer card, all you need is your 2365 Level 2 and to sit a separate H&S exam. See "Route 1" at the link below:
