Lost transformer for Christmas lights and need help finding a replacement. Thanks :-)

Hi

I'm not an electrician and have no idea when it comes to electrics. I have some Christmas lights at home and have lost their transformer. Here is the information on the wire:

lamp type max 6w (334 x 3v/0.048w)
transformer: input 220-240v- 50-60Hz
Output:24 Vdc 6VA

They are the ones that have a twist type connection. Any help finding a suitable transformer on google would be much appreciated (as I have no idea what I'm looking for).

24VDC 6VA? That's a bit odd. Normally, DC outputs are rated by current, e.g. 24V 0.25A. Outputs rated in VA are usually AC. Worth double-checking.


Your problem will be finding one with the right connector, but you could do an image search for 24V Christmas lights transformer and find a visual match. Provided the 24V and AC or DC is correct, it doesn't matter if the VA rating is higher than the original. If DC, check the polarity of the connector.

finding a suitable transformer should not be difficult,
but finding the correct plug will be,
you may have to transplant !
