Hi guys wired in some spot lights on transformers few weeks ago, just had a call to say they stay on for a few hours then go off by themselfs for about half an hour then go back on again. My first thoughts are transformers overheating.....any thoughts on this would be great ?CheersPhil

it sounds like the transformers may be shutting down to prevent damage. are the spots halogens? is it 1 tranny to 1 spot? are the trannies rated correctly?

strange to affect all at once if separate trannies. could it be a poor connection on the 230V side?

Hi telectrix,

Stupid of me the builder it was for supplied the trannys for the spots, I have done that much work over tge past few weeks I can't even remember what they are, going to pop round after me tea to investigate, I am sure it was one tranny to each spotlight?

Found it!! Turns out this job I only changed one of the fittings on this due to a dodgy spring, 65watt tranny 6 x 50watt lamps.......could cook a chicken on them !!
