Max distance between saddles

Discuss Max distance between saddles in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

the table being the minimum i personally on small vertical drops measure the first and last saddles 300mm from the equipment and the ceiling and try to achieve an equal spacing nearest to about 400mm in schools/offices/universitys etc i find it not only to be more secure but also aesthetically pleasing.

It is good to try and ensure equal spacing for the saddles and consider where the run might need support near joints, etc., I would normally aim for about a meter spacing for rigid conduit, just because it is easy to reach between the two. I did have one customer who wanted as few as possible and I did then measure the distance but it looked a bit messy with unequal spacing at each end.

if it a surface job i always try to keep saddles equally ie. 200mm each side of a bend & 200mm above sw. / socket box then work out distance between the rest
