Hi all got a megger 1720, tried using it with rechargeable batteries, 2450 mah duracell type and they seem to last not very long, bout a week of constant testing, however using duracells alkaline batteries pro-cell type they last for about 3 weeks, is this normal.....anybody else tried this and had same results????? Cheers all:):):):)

We find if you are testing every day that rechargeable cells last about a week and Duracell Pro-cell alkaline cells about a month in a Megger MFT17xx series tester. We have found the best choice in our life/cost/convience tests so far, to be Energiser Ultimate Lithium AA cells 30+ weeks and counting!

Hello mickytuff

When switching between the different type of batteries have you selected 1.2V or 1.5V for rechargeable or alkaline respectively in the setup (spanner mode) on the MFT1720 tester?
The correct voltage should be selected to ensure efficient use of batteries.
