My friend has an Isolator switch fitted yesterday, frm the meter to the isolater they fitted 16mm tails?? Is this allowed whwn he asked the installer he said that was the size Western Power fitted, so can you still run 25mm tails from isolater to CU

hi irish,
you are only concerned with whats on the consumers side and your meter tails will be sized as per cutout fuse.
i would still run 25mm2 from isolator to cu ;)

re - meter tails
Consumers controlgear " 530.3.4
check o/s/g/ -p 17 ( 2.2.3
meter tails must be 25mm2 / 16mm2 earth / 10mm2 ( Iz )
look at o/s/g/ 2.1
electricity supply / have overcureent on your 16mm2 tails plus what is his load in DB
what is he feeding 2-way DB

This is probably a basic question, as ive not been in this long and seen no mains isolator fitted before, could anyone just confirm actually what part is the consumers side?. Is it from the isolator onwards?:)
