Good to hear about Metrel. Just bought one of their testers

It is nice to have a positive thread.... however ..... I have had both a metrel and a megger. I thought the metrel was fine whilst I had it but now I have the megger I would not go back to the metrel. I feel the results the megger give are more reliable. As an example, the metrel always gave different readings on continuity just for the test leads (when nulling), this really put me off. The megger always gives exactly the same reading (i.e 0.06ohms).

Also, you could test the same cable twice and get fairly different continuity readings (this was with a calibrated metrel), whereas with the megger this does not happen.

However, the service that Metrel have given Murdoch sounds very good.

Even with new test leads and cleaned out terminals ? This is usually the cause of this problem.
