I attended this course in March. The facilities are excellent, very easy parking, very good lecture room, good food. The lecturers are very knowledgeable about any aspect of electrical work, from practical to theory. I was able to use my own test instrument and tools for the practical work. The exam room facilities were excellent with modern PC's for the exam for each candidate. The course was well run and represented real value for money - but then again, I would say that - I passed!
Have no illusions about the course difficulty before you go, the theory side of things (the regulations basically) is very hard, if only because of the sheer volume of information you are required to master in such a short time. Having said that you are only having to learn what we should all know anyway, in order to adequately and safely sign-off installations to the regulations as they stand at the moment.
I found it necessary to revise nightly for at least two hours in order to be comfortable with that day's course content, the night before the exam I actually worked for another five hours on the testing side of things just to make sure I was totally comfortable with all the little nuances etc
I came away very confident I could test a modern system correctly and record the appropriate values for future use, my own installation techniques were improved also as some of the regulations behind the practical side of things came into focus.
Basically the NAPIT course and environment impressed me no end, the facilities were excellent and they were very professional in their approach to the training.
Well done NAPIT
