First of all I would like to explain the 3 different schemes that we have to offer our customers through NAPIT; we have a LEVEL A full scope scheme which is for a qualified electrician who deals with all commercial, industrial and domestic work. The level a register covers you for all re-wires, consumer units, periodic’s, all commercial industrial and domestic work, and you are also able to certify your own work and other peoples work, basically it covers everything from A – Z. We do require 3 qualifications for the level a full scope scheme and these are –
*A formal electrical qualification such as City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2, an NVQ, apprentice etc.
*17[SUP]th[/SUP] Edition also known as the 2382 (if you hold the 2381 16[SUP]th[/SUP] edition and this was taken after June 2001 there is a 1day update course that you take to update on the amendments)
*2391 Inspection and Testing (This is not required if you have a 2400 qualification)
However we are still able to join you on our register with just a formal qualification but would ask you gain the 2382 and 2391 within 18months of registering with us.
We do hold courses up at our offices, if this is of any interest to you then please do not hesitate to contact me for more information.

The LEVEL B defined scope scheme which would suit somebody such as a kitchen fitter who does the electrical work but only changes what’s already there, you are not able to do re-wires or changing of consumer units and are only able to certify your own work and not other peoples work. We require 2 qualifications for the level b defined scope scheme which are –
*A formal electrical qualification such as EAL Domestic Installers, VRQ Level 2
*17[SUP]th[/SUP] Edition also known as the 2382 (if you hold the 2381 16[SUP]th[/SUP] edition and this was taken after June 2001 there is a 1day update course that you take to update on the amendments)
Again we are still able to join you on our register but would ask you to gain the 2382 within 18months of registering with us.

JUST 8 scheme, which is only for lectures, employed but qualified individuals and retired qualified NOT for self employed people. This requires all the same qualifications and requirements as the level a full scope scheme but everything must be in place, we DO NOT allow 18months to gain any outstanding qualifications. This scheme allows you to do 8 notifications in the year, however if you feel you will go over the 8 notifications in the year we will automatically upgrade you to our level a scheme which you will just have to pay the differences in price.

For the level a and level b the prices are as follows –
£300 membership & £180 assessment fee = £480 + VAT which in total is £576.00 for your first year membership registration fee, after the first year it’s just an initial £340.00 plus VAT which is a total of £399.50 (renewal fee).

For the just 8 scheme the prices are as follow –
£185 membership + £55 assessment fee = £240 + VAT which in total is £ 288.00 for your first year membership registration fee,

Everyone that registers with us we will need to hold an onsite assessment for you, this is were one of field officers will come and look at 1 piece of work that you have completed. This piece of work can either be in a customers home or your own home, the field officer will want to look at the quality of the work along with you using your test equipment carrying out the continuity test, insulation resistance test and the phase/earth loop impedance test. Then from the day of the assessment if everything is passed this is the day that you will go onto the register as a LIVE member and you will be able to start notifying your work to us.

As a professional organisation we aim to give our customers the best service and benefits,

I wonder if he is including these guy's as in his quote, ...''The best qualified electricians in the country''?? This is typical marketing hype, ...I wonder, should we ask him to substantiate this claim??..lol!!!
