New kitchen rewire using a new board

We are having our kitchen moved to a different part of the house. I have asked that the wiring for the new kitchen be using a new consumer board. The old kitchen will be changed into a bedroom. What changes need to happen to sockets and wiring of old kitchen. Also in the new room where spotlights and sockets are on the old wiring, What needs to happen to these? Thanks in advance.

They need to be altered to suit the new requirements for the planned uses of the rooms.

I meant that in the same room, the new kitchen, can there be wiring using two different boards? Or should the older bits be rewired?

Hello, may I suggest you think about what you want, as opposed to worrying about "how". Stick labels on where you need a socket, do you want doubles or singles, USB charging can be included. Think how the room is used and position, of bed, for instance. Bedside lockers by bed, with lamps, clock radio, do you want sockets above the locker, or low down and awkward to reach. Where do you want the light switch, one above or beside the bed. The more you think it through and sketch a diagram the easier it gets.

Your new kitchen will need detailed planning for where you want sockets, cookers, appliances and lights. Again, help with diagrams, nothing fancy, freehand is fine. The more you think it through the better the result all round. List the type of cooker hob, or oven you are thinking about.

A few years back I renovated a house and was annoyed that the electrician didn’t provide any input on the position of sockets and switches on the house rewire. Whilst I appreciate that it could be a useful service to provide it is really down to you and/or your designer / architect to decide where you want things located. The spark can then implement according to mutually agreed cost and feasibility.
