NICEIC Certification Scheme NICEIC Skype Assessment because of COVID-19

Just thought id let people know i've just completed my NICEIC assessment via Skype, because of the virus.
Was fairly straight forward, he contacted me a few days before to get what he needed via email to make things smoother, really lovely fella. Asked a few technical questions about disconnection times and wanted to check over some certs I had done.
All went okay. He threw a few questions in there that caught me out but honestly, they are not there to hound your technical knowledge, he just wanted too see if I had half a brain, thats all.

Now unfortunately because its an initial assessment i absolutely needed to have a site visit, which is now going to be put on hold until after the virus stuff, so technically I haven't been accepted onto the scheme today, and may need to wait a few months for an on-site assessment to be done. Shame really, but all should be okay.

If anyone's considering the Skype assessment during the outbreak, id recommend it

Well done, and in my view a proactive response to current restrictions by the NICEIC.

Pity for you that you have to wait indefinitely for the inspections of work though.

there rang me up yesterday and asked me could I do this Friday I had to decline having my insurances ran out tomorrow ,and now waiting for the insurance company to sort the insurance so I can carry on with this over the next year, if I still working like a lot of sparks on here .

In fairness they were brilliant. A lot of places would have just cancelled on us, but i respect the fact they offered an alternative.
And yes, a bit of a shame about the site assessment, even tho it was going to be at my own property and I felt like it could have been carried out over skype also, they wernt willing to do that. Fair enough. Ill have to plough on for a few more months and wait

IMO I think its not going way soon this virus does not matter what the scams think it could last for a three months or more ,I do appreciate would they are trying to do ,but in this current climate we all have to wait .
