I don't think that's his fault, looks like it was put on after anyway, something to do with the lime render maybe, I don't know.

In one of the pics it's capped on top. It should have been studded out using the designated fixing points. The builder should have known that too. I think this is a case of employing 'cheap' contractors who are chancers. Always costs more to put right

i`m not being funny but those that carry out `install` to this sort of standard need taking out of circulation....for their own good as well as that of the unsuspecting public.....their dangerous, their everywhere and their a liability...

being `nice` gets you work sure enough....but you have to be able to carry out the work to completion in a compliant manner.....

Feel for the client, we've all had to learn the hard way and been out of pocket with things in life. I remember being young and naive in London Town and falling for a con. Got a worthless carriage clock for £20. My own stupidity thinking that in the bin liner I 'couldn't look in' till later, would be one of the expensive gadgets I'd seen someone get earlier!

Can't be arsed to read all the posts, the first and last pages are enough!! Obviously one of our 17 day/Electrical Trainee jokers at work. If he's not, then he needs taking out of circulation just as quick, if not quicker!!

All just goes to show, just how safety conscious the Part Pee providers are!! They can beat their new safety drum as much as they like, they are themselves responsible for the vast majority of sub standard domestic work that's being carried in the UK, ...End Of!!

This work is a breach of the building regulations and therefore an offence under the Building Act.
This should be enforced by the local authority, although possibly the HSE may be prepared to take an interest.
Putting people at risk by undertaking such a low standard of dangerous work is something that should be addressed.
The HSE can cover work undertaken by self employed persons, although they may refer it to the local authority.

Hmm, I seem to be quite annoyed here.

I hope the customer does get some suitable resolution.
