Not true me good mate so called "approved" calls me every year so I can show him how to obtain r1+r2 readings, so he can show to nic inspector

Just found the photo, don't know if I added it earlier on, but he has put that its TNS with PME ?? WTF?? Not only that, he has specified that the Ze is 0.71 ohms.

Take a look at this photo, clearly says PME, so should be less that 0.35 ohms and certainly not 0.71, admittedly I didn't measure it, but am going back after the weekend.

I would just like to add, in the photo above, I have removed the trunking cover and the patress box lids so you can see whats inside.

A Ze over 0.35/0.38 ohms isn't as uncommon as you might think!! There are quite a good few Converted TN-S system that are still ''Work in Progress''!! But i wouldn't think that many are in the 0.70 ohm range....

1. How much did the client pay?
2. Make sure the customer sends the complaint to Elecsa, Trading Standards and LABC
3. Send a copy to Clive Betts - MP

What a joke.

what a waste of time,I went with glenn to discuss this with elecsa/niceic today at the show and what a load of garbage, despite clear evidence they won't act unless the customer complains, they said they couldn't act on the photo evidence as they are not the police, the guy wouldn't even agree that it was a shoddy install! He was totally not interested and would not even say what action they would take against the installer, however he did say that if a complaint was made then the original spark would be given time to correct it and resign it! would you trust him?

I still say send it to Emma Clancy - but add a paragraph about the lack of response from the guys on the stand at Elex.

We ALL need to do this with crxp installs

This needs to happen.. uksparks, you are sitting on a prime example of why the current system is failing the industry and the British public. I urge you to assist the customer through every stage of this and make sure the installer and his scheme are held to account !

How about we all muck in? I'm willing to help out in any way I can.

The next time we ALL see crxp installs supported by "scheme" membership we should send written evidence and photos to the CEO of the scheme the member claims to represent.

They sit in their ivory towers, with complaints in trays empty, because Joe Public dosn't know that to do and they all think life is rosy.

We can make a diffference... let do it.

I've got my assessment coming up soon and I'll raise this once the standard stuff is all done and dusted - fellow sparks you SHOULD do the same.

Many voices and many letters may, just may, get their attention.

I don't usually get worked up but I read the guy at elex the riot act,he was left in no doubt about my feelings regarding the scams, the interesting thing was that although I was calm, quiet and polite I seemed to have attracted an audience and there were many murmurs of disquiet from them, hopefully something may come from our little chat but I won't hold my breath, when I repeated my request for information regarding how many members had been slung out over the last 12 months he said that info was covered by data protection,he was less than pleased when I educated him re the data protection act and the fact that as I was only asking for a figure and not personal details then data protection did not apply. The whole thing stinks as far as I'm concerned and as I told him,if I want a socket in my kitchen,or an outside light then there's no way I,m joining a scam or paying LABC to have it signed off,I've enough experience to do it safely and I don't need a bunch of greedy self serving money grabbers to tell me I can.

sadly, the only thing that would get them motivated would be for members to leave in droves until they stopped enrolling these short course DI clowns.
