Hi all.
A friend has asked me to look at this old lamp.
It's of metal construction. Currently 2 core cable.
I'm thinking rewire the 2 core with 3 and earth it to the brass screw that goes into the body.
I did think putting on a transformer, but it seems cheaper to get 230v bulbs.
Any other ideas?
Thank you20200916_135957.jpg20200916_135943.jpg

Is it designed to be a table lamp? Thought it was a ceiling lamp at first, but then the flex comes out on top of the base.

Are the lamp holders insulated? Mini SES or Bayonet?

If so then the main issue I'd think would be whether the body can be effectively earthed from the incoming earth at the brass screw. So some continuity tests between that screw and the fitting near the lamps/shades should tell you.

And if they are SES lamp holders, check they are wired the right way round - Had to fix a hand made ceiling light from Turkey someone imported recently because some of the lives were to the outer connection, not the centre one.

nice rug though.
Not mine. Its in the garage as well. Think they have to much money

Yes its a table lamp.
E12, CES.
Will do some testing on it tomorrow.
Thank you

Have a look online for specialist lighting suppliers, they often can supply replacement lamp holders with earth terms or washers with earth terminals for earthing these sorts of lamp.
